Tried to login to ECP and it was successful.

Ran the script, it took about 30mins to complete.

Loaded the powershell script "UpdateCas.ps1" (C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Bin) into Powershell ISE.

I opened up an elevated Powershell ISE window

Note: This got rid of the server error page, but when I logged in I got nothing but plain text, still broken.

Run the IISReset command as Administrator to restart IIS and try to login ECP again

Note: I did not have to change my webconfig values.

Please check the Web.config file for ECP in Exchangeīack end and if there is any %ExchangeInstallDir% in the Web.configĬontent, please replace all of %ExchangeInstallPath% to C:\program %ExchangeInstallDir% in the web.config content, replace all of them withĬ:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\. Open Web.config file for OWA in the C:\Programįiles\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\Owa.

Note: My values were set to "%ExchangeInstallDir%bin %ExchangeInstallDir%bin\CmdletExtensionAgents %ExchangeInstallDir%ClientAccess\Owa\bin" changed it to C:\Program FIles\Micorosoft\Exchange Server\V15.

Followed the steps in the TN article which got rid of the server error page and got the login gui back.

Once completed, I ran the additional windows updates via the windows updater.

(double clicked the installer, did not run it through any elevated cmd prompt)

Downloaded the Exchange2016-KB50000871-圆4-en.msp file, copied it to the server, and ran it via the wizard.

Checked ECP, it worked and I was able to login.

Installed the CU19 exchange package using the wizard.

Took a backup of the exchange 2016 server.

I was pretty wiped out last night after spending nearly 7hrs doing the upgrade and troubleshooting this problem, I left a few things out. I hope this fix works for others as well. I just opened up a Powershell ISE as administrator, and loaded the UpdateCas1.ps1 file and executed it from there.

Ran it the first time without elevation and it bombed out. Note, be sure to run it from an admin PS session in order for it to work. To fix I ran the UpdateCas.ps1 from the Exchange bin folder (c:\program files\microsoft\exchange server\v15\bin) and after that the console came right back up. I ran the KB5000871 update right from the installer package. Upgraded to CU19 and applied KB5000871 and lost access to the ECP.
